Plunge into Creativity Recap

I hope that all of you boasted to your hubbies about your skills with a power drill after Mops today! What a fun--and a little exhausting for me--day of crafts.

In case you missed it, we made mason jar soap dispensers and hand printed tea towels.

Here are few answers to questions I recieved today, in case you were wondering too.

Kitchen Towel Printing
The towels are called "flour sack towels" and can be purchased at Artco or Joann's in small quantities.  I bought ours on Amazon.  Aunt Martha's is a popular brand for crafting. They were 28" by 28" and 130 thread count "premium" towels.

I carved our stamps but any rubber stamp will do.  You could also use blocks, wine corks, empty paper Towel rolls....

Use a designated fabric paint or mix a fabric medium (Martha Stewart has one) with any craft acrylic paint. Use two parts paint to one part fabric medium. This keeps your towel soft and washable.

After your paint dries on the towel, heat set it by going over your design with a warm iron. That's it! Now you can use it.

Mason Jar Soap Dispensers
I bought the jars from Ace Hardware. They were by far the most inexpensive. Plus, I had a sweet coupon code and there was free site to store delivery. (Best of all, they worker loaded all 8 dozen into my minivan for me.) We used pint jars. Make sure your jars come with lids and rings.

The drill bit was a 5/8 slade bit. They're a buck or two at the hardware store.

I bought the pumps from a site called naturesgardencandles.com. You can recycle any soap pump disperser or order from most soap making supply store.

Do you have any other questions? Let me know in the comments and I will do my best to answer them.
